I have been chasing around after you lot since the early 90s and seen all the various line-ups etc some great memories of the days when Chris Ryan was there etc I caught you at Clactions 'Rocking Horse Bar' the other saturday and did I cringe at the sound quality and over all gaffs..are you guys still having teething troubles? The pa when the disco was playing was pretty good but when you guys started the sound quality plummeted! not to mention the volume etc plus a few gaffs in notes too..lets hope it was just one of those nights? You guys should be aware your local reputation of a 'kick ass' rock band is good and you are some of the few now keeping the classics live..please dont let standards slip even if it means investing in a better pa. there are a lot of die hards rockers out here behind you! CALLEN [the Voice] Discovered: DT Says: Thanks for your comments - all criticism is taken contructively. To answer your questions: Yes, we did have trouble with our pa that night (we still don't know why the mid suddenly dropped!) and we're also still learning how to get the most out of the gear, especially the new desk. The 'new' members of the lineup are fully aware of their predecessors' talents, and have been working hard on learning some quite tricky stuff in quite a short period of time. Not wanting to make excuses or anything, but it was only our second gig, with about 95% new material (even for the existing members); and to try and concentrate on playing while sorting out all the technical issues, we're quite pleased with how the evening went. We apologise if anyone else thought our performance was sub-standard that night - sometimes you just have to play on and try to make the gig as enjoyable as possible. Everyone else there seemed to enjoy it! Thanks again for your views - they can only help us improve! |
